3 updates in 30 hours!

i took heed of your advice on the initial acceleration of the balloon and sped it up a bit shiroii.
also i cut down on the speedyness of the bouncy ball and added in a bit more stretch and rotation to have it look a bit more realistic (and interesting i think)

Hello Matt, New tests going on here , it look like the next exercise, Exercise 2, but due to some problems we had to postpone the start of it( i posted a better explanation about this in the animation exercises(general discussion subforum)).
Here are my crits about your test, The second one is looking better than the first. In the first movement when it is going up for the first time you should make it less speed at the end, the initial acceleration seems correct to me but at the end it is too fast. When it "bounce" it should oscillate due to the elasticity of the rope, i think a little bit more frames to make it slower can help too. When the small ball hit it the timing is close to correct, you should improve here the smooth of the movement, make the ball oscillate in a more smooth way. I donīt know if it is just an optic illusion but in the first movement the ball seems to scale down .
Ahh , i know you are working in timing, spacing and planning right now, but donīt forget the squash and stretch. they donīt need to be real, you can exaggerate them if it make your anim more interesting.
Hope iīve helped.
See ya, Alexandre

Update http://www.sabudesign.com/mostlycloudy/Asessions/mkelly_AS_ex01_07.mov 1,976kb
not too sure about the ripple i put in the balloon.. and i think the ball would push the balloon down more.. especially since the balloon seems to be filled up with less helium (slower rise)
this was actually finished yesterday but premier was acting up so i couldnt comp it...
kinda slowed down over the past few days because i discovered the animation of Don Hertzfeldt while looking for balloon reference
heres a good reference site i found over on cgchar courtesy of Carlos Fernandez http://www.engr.colostate.edu/%7Edga/high_speed_video/
